A Sustainable Project in Messanges France: Removable Foundations for a Beach Restaurant

Techno Pieux Landes: A foundation for an ecological, dismantlable project.

Techno Pieux Landes contributed their expertise in 2023 and 2024 to install foundations for a new beach restaurant in Messanges (Landes, 40), France. This unique project was carried out in two phases, demonstrating Techno Metal Post's flexibility and environmental awareness for their foundation solutions. (Watch video here)

Phase 1: Quick to respond after a fire in 2023

Following a fire in winter 2023, Techno Metal Post Landes was asked to install a temporary foundation solution to support modular buildings for the upcoming summer season. Techno Metal Post's helical pile foundations were preferred for several reasons:

• Responsiveness: The solution enabled a fast installation so that the restaurant could be operational during the summer, which is so crucial for the Messanges beach area.
• Environmental Responsibility: Situated on a dune ridge, the site requires minimal work to preserve the local ecosystem.
• Reversibility: The helical pile foundations, which can be unscrewed, were an ideal temporary solution for this project, while awaiting a definitive rebuild scheduled for 2024.

Phase 2: Installation of a dismantlable restaurant in 2024

For the reconstruction phase in 2024, Techno Metal Post Landes unscrewed the temporary foundations, remanufactured them in the workshop, then reinstalled them for the new timber-frame building. This demonstrates the versatility of Techno Metal Post foundations and their ability to adapt to any project.

The new restaurant, which can be completely dismantled, adapts to the natural changes in the dune ridge. It is designed so it can be entirely relocated in the future in response to coastal erosion. Techno Metal Post foundations, which do not require concrete or water, enable a clean and reversible intervention if needed, guaranteeing environmental protection along the coast.
